Dieci reaches new heights in performance with the Icarus 45.17 GD | 4.5T Telehandler

Construction sites demand machines that deliver more – more lift, more reach, more efficiency, and less downtime. With a reach of 16.4 meters and lifting capacity of 4500KG, Dieci’s Icarus 45.17 GD is built to meet these expectations head-on.

Designed for large-scale construction and industrial applications, the Icarus 45.17 GD delivers outstanding strength, stability and lifting performance in demanding conditions. The two-speed hydrostatic transmission combined with the inching pedal allows precise low-speed control while maintaining full engine power – ideal for controlled placement of heavy loads with maximum safety.

“The Icarus 45.17 GD is purpose-built for high-demand construction environments, delivering a powerful combination of excellent lifting capacity and lift height. It is designed and engineered to handle large-scale applications with confidence,” said Dieci’s National Sales Manager, Bob Mules.

Four-wheel drive and four-wheel steering come standard, with three selectable steering modes including two wheel steer, four wheel steer and crab steer. This ensures superior manoeuvrability on tight sites. The hydraulic Flow Sharing system allows smooth, proportional and simultaneous movements via a single multifunction joystick. Integrated FNR (forward-neutral-reverse) control provides intuitive operation and increased operator productivity.

With a wide range of accessories – forks, jibs, winches, hooks, buckets and more – the Icarus 45.17 GD is engineered for true jobsite versatility.

Italian design, built for Australian conditions

The Giugiaro Design (GD) delivers a spacious cab with enhanced ergonomics and comfort.

Increased legroom, 360° visibility and integrated LED work lights ensure excellent visibility day or night. Large mirrors and camera systems provide complete site awareness.

The advanced control layout, intuitive dashboard and diagnostic display give operators clear machine feedback at all times.

Advanced heating and climate control along with soundproofing and air suspension seat increases operator comfort all year round.

Powerful and stable

Built with high-resistance steel and engineered for structural strength, the Icarus 45.17 GD maintains exceptional load stability whether the boom is retracted or fully extended.

The anti-tipping system continuously monitors stability and automatically identifies when load limits are approached.

The load limiter device keeps safety parameters constantly visible to the operator. If operational thresholds are approached, operators are notified automatically, keeping operators protected and loads under control. Load status remains clearly visible on the dashboard at all times. Independent outriggers with proportional controls and a transversal levelling system allow safe operation on uneven terrain, maintaining a horizontal chassis position at all times.

“The Icarus 45.17 GD provides the operator with precision controls enabling the machine to manage lifts safely even at full extension. The advanced anti-tipping and load limiting systems actively monitor performance in real time, providing increased safety measures for the operator and crews working close to the machine during lifts,” said Bob.

Smart technology. Maximum control

The Soft Motion System improves boom control by reducing speed as it approaches operational limits or pre-alarm conditions, delivering smoother and safer operation.

An advanced onboard diagnostic system provides real-time machine data.

Engineered for performance efficiency

The Icarus 45.17 GD is engineered for reduced maintenance and lower operating costs. Low fuel consumption, high efficiency and proven hydrostatic performance ensure maximum productivity across every jobsite. ROPS/FOPS-approved cab protection, operator presence sensor and deadman system provide built-in safety compliance to Australian standards.

“This machine is engineered for versatility, with compatibility across a wide range of attachments including forks, jibs, winches and buckets, making it a true multi-purpose solution on site,” said Bob.

Intelligent stability system

The advanced anti-tipping and load limiting system continuously monitors machine stability in real time.

“The inclusion of independent outriggers and a transversal levelling system provide additional safety features which allow for safe operation on uneven terrain. It’s important to provide the operator with a stable working platform in challenging environments,” said Bob.

Advanced multifunction joystick

The new single hydraulic joystick delivers proportional and simultaneous control (Flow Sharing) for smooth, precise operation. Integrated FNR (Forward-Neutral- Reverse) direction control improves efficiency and productivity.

Two speed hydrostatic transmission

The high-efficiency hydrostatic drive system delivers smooth acceleration, strong low-end torque and reliable performance across all working conditions. The Icarus 45.17 GD is designed for productivity and fuel efficiency.

Operator comfort and ergonomics

The Giugiaro designed cab provides increased legroom, intuitive controls and an ergonomic layout. Soundproofing, climate control, adjustable steering wheel and air suspension seat ensure comfort during long operating hours.

Side shift carriage

The Icarus 45.17 GD is equipped with a side shift carriage making repositioning and stacking loads tightly, an effortless task.

Inching pedal precision control

The inching pedal allows operators to reduce or momentarily stop travel speed while maintaining full power to boom functions – ideal for precise load placement and delicate operations.
